The goal of the project was to deliver freshwater fish raised responsibly, as part of their CSA package. In an effort to demonstrate the significance of a required shift from wild fishing to farmed fishing to sustain the natural aquatic ecosystems.
The project’s focus was to grow prime crops that are hard to find consistently on shelves in the best quality, grow it year round. Cherry tomato, basil, celery and exotic lettuce types are the choice of crop. The system is designed with media beds and DWC troughs in a closed loop system.
The project is powered by its community of volunteers. Individual responsibilities are chalked out through optimized information transfer systems and the clock work of volunteer determination sees beneficial fruit at the end of every growing cycle.
