The unique greenhouse design accommodates scorching temperatures to allow for year-round production. Based on the thermodynamic movement of air masses, the greenhouse self-regulates it's micro-climate eliminating the need for complicated climate control systems. Therefore, making the system as carbon neutral as possible.
The project will focus its Aquaculture stock on the production and rearing of Omani bred Tilapia. The system design will aim to improve the market supply and set a benchmark for freshwater fish freshness and quality. The project also looks to introduce the culture of other valuable freshwater species like catfish and perch.
The intensive 4.2 million liters recirculating system is slated to produce over 120 tons of vegetables and 30 tons of fish annually. A crop mix of Kale, Spinach, Lettuce, and Basil will be adopted in tandem with Tomato and Rock Melon according to seasonal demand.
