The project is literally a living example of a family operated SME achievable through Aquaponics. The system is the ultimate confluence of all growing concepts including media beds, DWC, dutch buckets, vertical towers and wicking beds. The polycarbonate greenhouse uses evaporative cooling to support its operation through the summer.
The project focuses its Aquaculture on a combination of Tilapia, Koi and Barramundi. The system design aims to improve the market supply and set a benchmark for freshwater fish in the region. The idea is also to show a working business model that alleviates the over fishing crisis.
The produce from this project is a popular farmers market stand that enjoys customers of all walks, including tourists. The farm pioneered longer farmer’s market seasons owing to its year round production design. The production ranges over 40 different crop types most suited for its farmers market clients.
